There is no life I know that compares to pure imagination:

If any of you are hearing about Preston Bailey for the first time here, I am thrilled to be making the introduction.
Beyond having the same initials as this dear website (which I can only take as a sign from God, really), PB, has made a name for himself as a wedding planner known for his whimsical large scale sets…

And flower arrangements.

His website has a section showing before & afters of his large scale transformations. They are pretty incredible and show that really any space can work for a wedding if you have the imagination (and ridiculous budget) to make it so.
Enjoy!

The Tent Before:

After:

One of my favorite transformations, you will not believe it. Before, a riding ring:

After, a church?

With a magical fall forrest inside!?

Who would look at this and think, ah yes, perrrfect for my wedding!

The same space after:

Again, huh? Stale modern lobby?

Transformed into a sleek minimal space for a white wedding.

This space was already pretty cool before

But WHOA after!

Excuse me, have we met?

Sooo I was just perusing the blogosphere and stumbled upon this sketch on High-Heeled Foot in the Door.

Look familiar?

The room was designed by Michelle Moreland and was featured in Domino Magazine (I believe…) a few years back.

I posted it a few weeks ago to demonstrate the desired look for the living room at Clifford.

I love seeing how the vision of a talented designer gets translated into reality.
Really inspiring.
If only I could draw, maybe then I could get a grasp on the massive project Clifford the Big Red House has turned into…

Perrrfect…

And I was just thinking our bathroom needed a little glamour…

In case you were wondering where the faucet is on this $17,000 tub, it comes out of the heel so as to massage ones shoulders.

Truly. Stunning.
Like, I am stunned.

SPRING into Fall…

One of my favorite blogs, Haven and Home, introduced me to my new Favorite designer, Kelley Proximire yesterday. She operates mainly out of the D.C. area, and her aesthetic is very preppy chic. Scrolling through her portfolio I stumbled across this stunning living room, remind you of anything?

What can I say, great minds think alike!

Now, in my humble opinion, this is how you do white.

The white walls and curtains give a pure, neutral background for the color to really pop.

The result is bright and summery and fresh, not sterile!

The details in this room are also incredible. The trim on the couch and the curtains, the lucite table? LOVE!

What do you think?

Trick or Treat: Halloween Costume Ideas

Keeping with our Halloween Theme this week, I have been asked a lot lately for Halloween Costume Ideas. Is it just me or does everyone feel a little uninspired this year? AND Halloween falls on a Saturday this year! What is wrong with us? Is it something in the air? Or are we (horror of all horrors) getting old and boring?
I refuse to admit defeat, so I bring you a few topical and funny (I don’t do slutty Halloween- sorry) costume ideas!
I think by far the three most popular costumes this year (think last years Sarah Palin and Moose combo) will be

1. Octomom

2. Balloon Boy

3. Kate Gosselin

Or you could just go AS a tabloid.

Hopefully this helps get your juices flowing…It’s not really about coming up with something no one would expect, although that is fantastic as well, just pick something funny/creative and really commit, put your signature spin on it, make it your own!
Anyone out there with more great costume ideas they would be willing to share, leave them in the comments!
