Did you get it!?
It’s the banquette from Sweetie Pie in New York!
I have mentioned Sweetie Pie a few times on Le Blog, and if you have been reading for awhile you know that this place is seriously my bliss.
I first heard about Sweetie Pie from an article in Elle about its creator, Julie Janklow (who might be one of the 10 people I would invite to my dream dinner party, she seems super bizarre and interesting, which in my book is the best way to be), who started the West Village eatery as a place where kids could bring their parents without the parents wanting to kill themselves a la the recent violent outbreaks at nationwide Chucky Cheeses.
Significantly, Sweetie Pie’s menu features a mix of gussied up comfort food (one of the best grilled cheese/tomato soup combos ever) as well as a fun old school list of adult beverages (Think sidecars, and a drink called The Dirty Shirley- Shirley Temple con vodka…yes please!). The music is more festival circuit than Disney musical, and the decor, while whimsical, is not smack you in the face childish. It is open for lunch, dinner, and as a late night drinks and dessert lounge.
And I think it is just fabulous. I have returned every time I have gone back to New York since. It has gotten rave reviews from every one of my friends I have dragged to pay homage to my mecca.
Petey Boy was a happy customer with his Micro Cakes.

Stina with a mini Ice Cream
And the happiest customer of all…me!
I have also seen Julie, who I recognized from the Elle profile, each time I have been in there but never got up the guts to talk to her. She looks like a hot Argentinean chick that could, and would, kick your ass but she talks more like a less ditzy Cher Horwitz. I told you, she’s different. And I like that. So I did some stalking research.
I knew I remembered her townhouse being featured in Vogue awhile back, which although I have found the photographic evidence of such an occurrence, the article still escapes me. The best I could do was this profile from Habitually Chic: The whole place was self decorated by Jules (I think we are at a nick-name level at this point, don’t you?) and you can really feel the quirky personality coming through.

AND THEN after hours of internet searching I found these images from the MLS listing. Do you see what I do for you people!?

I love you, You are welcome.
All in all, I have to say I would definitely share a trio of mini ice cream cones with the person who created these fun, and unexpected spaces. What do you think?
