A few years ago I fell in love. Hard. With this bathroom. Design can do that to a girl sometimes.

I tore the picture out of the mag, stuck it in my inspiration binder, and lovingly gazed at it from time to time. I foolishly did not record who the designer was. And so I never knew. I thought about doing one of those “Missed Connections” things in the newspaper, but I thought that might be weird. And fruitless.
Then. One day. This magical blog called Desire to Inspire answered my prayers.

Hello Lover.
Think that is fab? Check out the rest of the apartment:

Her name is Katie Ridder. And I was thrilled/surprised to realize she was behind MANY of the images I have lusted after in my dirty magazines (Elle Decor, House Beautiful etc.) over the years. Like this bathroom that made the cut for the Best of Elle Decor book.
She is obviously not afraid of color…

But chick knows her way around a neutral as well…

I especially love what she does in kids rooms…

I mean she clearly loves a daybed, but I feel like each of her rooms are super unique and interesting and do not look “over designed”. But enough about me, what do y’all think about my new design crush?

this house is so beautiful ,i think it must cost a lot of money.cheapsexyshoes

I like her!! She uses a lot of details yet it feels really clean and neat… (not a designer and have no idea what lingo is used but willing to try!) Definitely one of my favs! Thanks bails!
So many beautiful elements and I love the vibrant colours!
Oooooo, love love love! There is so much texture and detail in every room! I’ve been staring at every picture trying to take it all in! Ms. Ridder I could use your assistance.
Love these rooms! DO you know where those fab NKS monogrammed pillows are from?!?! Love them!
I also loved that bathroom! Thanks for all the other gorgeousness, too. In that first bedroom photo: do you think that leaf motif on the walls is wallpaper?
Thanks everyone for your comments!
Katie: I don’t know where she got them, but you can try either http://www.leontinelinens.com/index.php OR Victoria’s Linens in Houston on Post Oak next door to wear the old Louise Blum?
Wendy: I don’t know for sure, it looks like it is and in this high end of a room I would assume so, however, the GOOD news is that it would be a pretty easy thing to recreate with a little home made stencil, paint, and patience!
Glad y’all liked it!
I adore this website!
I’ve been stalking Desire to Inspire all week
well, i have a crush on your new design crush. love the bright different colors in each room. all i want in life is a gliding ladder in my kitchen. or my library should i have one.
Bailey! I was so excited to see some Katie Ridder action on your site! When I interned at the Merchandise Mart we had her wallpaper collection in our showroom and it is totally quirky and fun. My favorite (as unusable as it is) is called ‘attendants’. Love the blog, and thanks for giving me something to do at work : )
You should check out 1stdibs.com, I know I have seen a spotlight on this designer on that website.
