First, I have to thank all of you for your tips, Pete and I actually took you up on quite a few of them which is saying a lot because apparently I will not do anything that Gwyneth hasn’t personally cosigned as Goop worthy.
Yes, that is right. My name is Bailey and I am a Goop-a-Holic. Isn’t that hideously lame? She just gets me every time with her prettiness (if you are pretty you get a lot more credability in my book, I am very shallow) and her smug pretension…and I have to admit, she hasn’t let me down yet! Woman nourishes my inner aspect.

Anyway. Gwyneth told us to go to Amaya (as did some of you). So we did, and it was good. She also told us to go to La Petite Maison, so we did, and it was good too!

But then I got my head out of my GOOP and saw London all on my own, with Petey by my side obviamente.
Mostly, we walked. A lot.

Said whatup to the Queen…

And scolded her for keeping her front yard untidy. Curb Appeal, woman.

We saw all the things we were supposed to see…

And walked around some really pretty neighborhoods. Or neighboUrhoods. Like this one, Wilton Crescent where Gwynnie herself used to live.

This house makes me want to paint Clifford black…

We stopped in some really cool stores…

And had tea, first at The Berkeley Hotel…

They call their service “Pret-a-Portea” and serve treats that they say were inspired by the above items from the runway…

I think some translations were achieved better than others

Like this particular “biscuit”, but it was all delicious!

We also got all fancied up and met up with my friend from home who is studying in London, Sarita, for High Tea at The Ritz which I vote best jam in London. Which is saying a lot, ’cause we ate a whole lotta jam.
Then one night poor Petey got food poisoning, so being the loving/doting wife-to-be I am…I went to the pubs with Sarita (I promise he told me to go!)

Our first stop was The Grenadier, tucked in a charming alley behind Wilton Crescent

Where we had a pint before heading down the street for dinner at The Pantechnicon Pub

An absolutely DELICIOUS gastropub just off of Wilton Crescent

Where I had one of the yummiest meals in London, of legit normally nast traditional English food as well…I would definitely recommend this spot.
On our last night with Petey fully recovered we got all dressed up and went on a hot date followed by grown up drinks at the Lanesborough Library Bar.

And then we woke up at the absolute crack of dawn and flew back to the old USofA. Where I am immediately heading to the gym to deal with Macaroon Baby I conceived during our vacay.

I missed all of my lovers in the blogosphere though, and can’t wait to catch up with everyone!

Loving Pete’s pinstripes. How dapper.
Looks like a fabulous vacation, welcome home !
Felt like we were there. Hope to try some of the terrific places you highlighted. Especially
would like to try the famous macaroons.
makes me want to take a trip…and eat an entire box of macaroons
Wow, that was amazing! Almost felt like I was back in London again…I studied there a lifetime ago, and had tea at the Ritz as well, the adorable fashion one didn’t exist then, or I would have gone there too…and there was no Goop to follow either…too bad for me, love that GP too!
couple things:
1. gwyneth has nothing on you. you are like penelope cruz with your eyes and hair. sexballs.
2. london is my fave (and best)
3. your finance (onpurpose) rocks for not wearing a tampon while he was feeling like pukecity USA
4. macaroon babies are the best babies to have (supermike is putting together a minimovie based on macaroon love via baileyawesome)
5. what is that cute little laser cut vest/shirt thing you are wearing?
loves it.
6. i totes have a gwyneth/goop/gwyneth WITH chris martin obsession. they are my husband and i’s besties (in our heads)
I am beyond obsessed with the dachshund chairs (because of my dog, Brownie), and just spent 30 minutes on the Jimmie Martin website! Very cool find.
I love the greyish dress you have on at the Lanesborough Library Bar! Looks like you had an amazing trip (blisters and food poisoning aside). But then again, it’s hard not to when it’s London! And I forgot about the jam at the Ritz! Hah that WAS good!
Cheers,
Alaina
