‘Sup Mooches.
Yeah I know why you are here, don’t even pretend to love me, you are here for the goods. And I am pleased to tell you, the goods are GOOD.
For our first giveaway here on Peppermint Bliss we will be giving away not one, but TWO lucite trays from iomoi.
Yep that is right, two of you can be winners today.
AND you can choose the design/monogram of your tray from their plethora of options. Here are just a few!

Remember when I put it out into the Universe that I wanted PB to be legit and lead me to things like fame, fortune, and best friendship with Britney Spears?
(I love it when I make her laugh!)
Well it’s allll happening.
I am in the process of launching my own decorating business after being hired by my first real life client! I am redesigning the PB logo (It worked for awhile, but I think it’s a little cheese and not really what I am all about. Plus it is never a good sign when your avatar is hotter than you are) and will be launching a separate website for my decorating business where you can view my portfolio, and even hire me and make my dreams come true. You could be like the Richard Gere to my Julia Roberts.
And so to thank all of you, my beloved stalkers who have made this silly little site somewhat successful.
So listen up. There are 2 ways to win.
But to be considered eligible you must follow this blog either on twitter, facebook, or through subscription to be considered. So please choose your preferred method of worship in the top right corner and let me know how you get your PB in your comment.
1. One winner will be chosen on the merit of their advice. These new endeavors require quite a bit of branding. So for all of my most loyal readers, what do you think of when you think of Peppermint Bliss and my personal design aesthetic? Any ideas for my decorating business name? Logo? How would you describe what I am all about? Who am I? The most helpful answer wins one tray.
2. Even if you don’t have any winning advice leave a comment, because the other winner will be chosen at random based on a randomly generated comment number.
You can improve your chances by entering again, just:
Tweet about this giveaway (and leave a comment letting me know, and you get another entry)
Blog about this giveaway (leave a comment let me know, and you get another entry)
Facebook Status about this giveaway (leave a comment let me know, and you get another entry)
I will accept entries until next Wednesday April, 14. The winner will be announced next Thursday!
Good luck everyone!

I would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below!
I love the comfort of your classic style.
I am a follower through Google reader connect.
Bails, you know the following about me:
I’ve already tried to help name your business and I sucked at it, so I’ll keep brainstorming
I love a good monogram, paired on a lucite tray, ummmm yes please
Of course I already follow you on my google reader and via facebook, duh
you’re on modg today!
I love this giveaway! Of course I’m a beloved stalker of your’s and I follow you!
As for advice, I’m no graphic designer but I think anything you use would have to incorporate bright colours and something a little preppy/funky, which seems to me to go with your personality. I love your background here–so bright and fun.
Bailey,
I LOVE Peppermint Bliss and read it every morning first thing when I get to work…I, too, hope to one day design – my desk job doesn’t cut it! You give great tips and ideas and I love how you always have super funky things alongside some classical stuff…you have great taste! Your commentary is the best, too….I’ve already stalked the iomio website for an hour this morning and have dreamed about how beautiful a tray would look on my coffee table! hehe…I don’t have any name ideas right now, but I’ll start to think. Best of luck!!
Rebecca Kuhlmann
I tweeted!
I follow on everything. I will be making it my status promptly, and I will blog about it as well.
Oh, and you’re the quintessential of new traditional. Get it? QUINtessential.
Hmmm… my first thought for a name was “Ekphrasis” or some variation of that (ekphrastic, ekphraria, etc.). Ekphrasis is a literary term (I’m an English major/teacher/dork) for when one piece of art is described/shown in detail in another piece of art. I’ve always thought it was a cool word with an unusual spelling that not a lot of people know about. But then I envisioned you down the road–super famous–doing an interviews for Elle Decor and Rolling Stone (your decor influence on Brittany will have led to many more important jobs with music industry bigwigs), and I couldn’t imagine you explaining that name. You’re still welcome to it though.
My next thought was that it should definitely start with a B and use a monogram for its logo. Monograms are classic but can still be adapted to pretty much any style, so yours doesn’t have to be overly pretty or classic. It seems like most designers are known by their name, so if your company starts with a B, your monogram logo could be applied to the company AND your name, which might be useful down the road. As for the actual name, what about “Bliss”? It maintains a tie to your original blog, but is less specific, and has great connotations, design and otherwise. Perhaps that’s already taken?
As for what I think you’re about: I think you’re on trend in a good way. On trend without being trendy. You have a really fun sense of style, but in a glamorous way, not a kid/teeny-bopper way. And you’re not afraid to take chances. I like that a lot.
I think that’s enough. I follow you on Facebook, and I’ll let you know when I post about this on my blog later today.
Best giveaway ever!! I am obsessed with these trays!
I am a follower through Google reader and love your blog!
OMG, Bailey, I have been DYING for a lucite tray from iomoi for years! I am definitely crossing my fingers to win!! I am following you on FB and Twitter.
My advice:
I think your design aesthetic is modern and a little quirky, so you definitely want to capitalize on that. It is what sets you apart. That and your fierce sense of humor. I’m not sure that I love Peppermint Bliss as a name for a design business. It reminds me more of ice cream than interiors, but I have a major sweet tooth, so I always have ice cream on the brain. I think Bliss Interiors by Bailey LastName would be great. That way, you have a connection to the brand you’ve already begun to build on your blog, but the identity of the business is more clearly defined. As far as your logo goes, I would suggest something graphic. Do you have a favorite graphic pattern? Chevron? Greek Key? Trellis? Quatrefoil? I would probably do the pattern in the background and then do your logo in a really cool, complementary font. I feel like the iomoi look reflects your style so much, so I am sure that you could take some design cues from there. Everything they do is bananas amazing! More than anything, I think you have an fabulous sense of humor and I see that reflected in everything you do. You would be designing for the young, hip person who embraces trends, but doesn’t allow them to dictate everything they do. You keep it chic without being stuffy. You would be the type of designer who would design an amazeballs room without making it feel pretentious or completely unattainable.
P.S. I just checked Go Daddy and blissinteriordecoration.com, blissbybailey.com, and a few other domains are available. I don’t know if you’ve shared your last name on your blog, so I’ll just say your first and last name +design.com or first and last name + interiors.com are also available.
Thanks for hosting the best giveaway I’ve seen in ages!
You are my cubicle sanity! I follow you on google reader and now via facebook.
As I settle in with my stale, watered-down corporate company coffee each morning, I drift into design heaven and dream of what my home will be like in 10 years (…and $10MM). Then, I toggle over to yahoo finance as the footsteps of the boss man jolt me back to reality.
As a southern girl, I too am a sucker for all things monogram and now make it my mission for today (all banking business aside) to come up with something fitting and worthy because that lucite tray WILL BE MINE!
I’m totally dying for two reasons. 1. I have been jonesing for a lucite tray from iomoi for a good two years ago, so this giveaway is beyond amazing. 2. I spent ten minutes typing the bestcomment for you, I hit submit, and it disappeared. Bizarre.
Let’s try it again! First off, I am following you on both FB and Twitter. Congratulations on your venture into interior design! I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. Above all, the thing that sets you apart from everyone else is your killer sense of humor. I see it reflected in everything you do and you should definitely capitalize on that when it comes to your business. I think Bliss Interiors or Bliss Interior Decoration by Bailey Q. would be a great name. Peppermint Bliss makes me think of ice cream, but I have a major sweet tooth, so I always have ice cream on the brain! I think just Bliss might be better suited for a design business, plus it would provide a link to the brand you have already established through your blog. In terms of your logo, I think bold is the way to go for you. It would be in keeping with your personality and style and would set you apart in a sea of designers. I would go for a graphic pattern for the background. Do you have a favorite? Greek Key? Chevron? Trellis? Quatrefoil? I would then pair that with your company’s name in a cool, complementary font. I think iomoi’s style is definitely in keeping with your own, so you can probably take some style cues from them for your logo. All of their designs are fabulous.
I see you designing for the young, hip person who likes trends, but doesn’t let the trends dictate who they are or how they live. You would design amazeballs rooms that would work perfectly in the present day, but would still look pretty damn good five years from now. Your work is chic without feeling pretentious or stuffy, and that my dear, is what makes you different. You are a breath of fresh air!
P.S. I checked Go Daddy and BlissInteriorDecoration.com is available. So are your full name + interiors.com, your full name +designs.com, and blissbybailey.com.
This just might be the best giveaway EVER, so thank you so much for hosting it. I am majorly crossing my fingers for good luck on this one!
Hi Bailey – I tweeted your contest @dumbwittellher this a.m.!
I posted your contested on my FB fanpage under “DWELLER”. Such a terrific giveaway!
These are amazing. So classic and useful all at once while providing elegance with a modern edge
PS posting on my facebook now
Love the style… Great monograms… hip cool trendy pieces with classic designs… Love it!
Hi Bailey; I am a new follower, havingI found you on FB & Twitter. I went thru your previous posts to know you better but alas feel not 100% comfortable commenting since I don’t know you well yet. What I gather is what first impressions an individual/potential client would gather I guess so here goes; I adore your sense of humor, so that extends to your style sensibility. You have an elegant style, one that I love. I would try to capture that elegance in a new website. Find a website designer that can blend your hip, young personality with the chic/bohemian/glam aesthetic What I’ve learned through the years is that elegance travels through the years with such grace. For example, the simple ‘bob’ haircut. It looks as good today as it did in the 30′s. I am so fond of the blog ‘from the right bank’. Ally has lived all over and has amassed a classy, timeless, funky, style that she channels to her blog well. It’s still young but not cheesy like you don’t want.
I’m not always good for coming up with names – but what briefly comes to mind is the French word for Bliss which is “bonheur” The hardest part is having a name that reaches across the ages, sticks with you and is easy recognizable.
Wishing you all the best; you’ll do fabulous no doubt at all. The world is your oyster!!
I’ll be following & watching the fun x
Hey Bailey!!
Well I of course follow your blog daily off great recommendation via Katha–and i must say I enjoy the house updates, design features, and wedding stories!
As far as advice goes–
Though you have trecked long and far to Chicago–you still have your wonderful southern roots–and so I think you should definately go classic (with a monogram of some sort) or nautical fratty theme–but add a touch of your southern living style! I love nothing more than a little modern clean design with a flair of southern comfort. Think about it, pray about it.
Also–I follow via google and facebook!
Yo Bales,
I just tweeted about you and AT you. I hope I did it right… I also just wrote about your website on my tumblr account I just started because I moved to a big city all by myself. Crazy! But, anyway, I have been following your blog for a few months now and you seriously have the most original posts about decorating. It’s like you’re reading my mind. How are we not friends in real life? Your blog still makes me feel like I’m coming home because honestly, it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I come to your blog. Keep up the great work. I know your business will take off because you truly have a talent for this. Good luck!
those trays are great! i love your blog and just started following you on twitter!
Naturally, I follow you on Facebook and Twitter! I love Tweets.
As for a name… what about just Bailey Quin? Most designers just use their name – Madeline Stuart, Kelly Wearstler, Barbara Barry – and yours is cute to boot. Just checked – I am fairly certain http://www.baileyquin.com is available. As for an overall design look, go with your favorite color. The color you’ve loved most above all others. You’ll tired of anything else and want to change it within a few months. And keep it simple, for the same reason of tiring of it and wanting to change it. Kelly Wearstler – while I am not her biggest fan – has the best logo ever. Love the way her name was styled.
Hope this helps!
Alaina

I have been in love with these trays for so long! I am planning on getting one for my mom for Mothers Day and trying to think up an excuse to get one for myself! I’m new to your blog and so far loving it. I graduated in December and on the hunt for a job in Event Planning in Chicago and your “Folllow your Bliss” advice keeps me going even when it seems like there is no end!
I’m a facebook fan and saw this giveaway in my newsfeed. I have been coveting these trays for forever. So fun and unique!

p.s. i lol’d in my cube at the Best Friends Forever Pic!
i just started following you on twitter but i’m decidedly low-tech and have you bookmarked and blogrolled.
i’m the worst with names so i won’t embarrass myself trying but i think i’d say your style is graphic (not in the gross way, i’m thinking à la massucco warner miller and the jimmie martin furniture you posted) and unique (hellooo, wedding invites). your taste is as colorful as your sense of humor and we all can’t get enough.
and i blogged about it here:

I want a tray so badly! Possibly the green elephant one, but there are so many great ones!
Bailey,
Congrats on starting your own business, I was just thinking the other day how you need to provide your services to the public. I mean, it would be for the greater good of man. I consider your style eclectic prep. I like the sound of it too, Eclectic Prep Design by Bailey, or perhaps just stick with Peppermint Bliss Designs, it’s a goodie but an oldie.
Oh and by the way, I think this could be the best giveaway ever. I’ve been lusting over their lucite trays for more than a year but wasn’t willing to break my piggy bank. I have an online stationary account with them and love it!

Hello!
I just found your blog yesterday and as a lover of design blogs, you were a must add to my google reader. I’ve been eyeing these trays for quite some time and feel they add a perfect punch of color to any room. I look forward to reading your blog and getting ideas from you as I love to decorate!

Hi Bailey!
What an awesome giveaway!! I am in dire need of a lucite tray to brighten up my dresser
I think you’ll make an amaazingly fabulous designer! I love reading your blog and follow you in Facebook because I love your style and spunk. While I’m not really a creative type, the name “Bliss by Bailey” keeps popping into my head. I like it because it wouldn’t limit you to a blog or design and would keep the branding open to anything you want to “bliss-ify,” mhmm say a line of kitchen accessories or wedding design/planning firm down the line… perhaps the logo could be 2 “B”s back to back in a circle monogram with some sort of hot pink ‘n gold scheme to jazz it up.
Good luck!!
first of all. congrats on a new client. thats awesome. i would die to win this lucite tray. holy bageezus! the things i would do with it get me so excited!!!! ok so…
