Spring: Secrets of Domestic Bliss

This weeks Thank Buddha it’s Spring is brought to you by Ashlina of Secrets of Domestic Bliss. Ashlina has quickly become one of my favorite new blog friends, and I am always inspired by the images she posts!

secrets of spring…

1. I know spring has sprung in my neck of the woods when…

the fashion! in Los Angeles it’s almost always sunny. but when all the rain has gone away and the chilly nights are over…i know spring has arrived. living in a big city means fashion and LA definitely has it’s own style, which i love. in spring the girls break out their best bright colors and flowy dresses. scarves in yellows and pinks, stylish hats, convertible tops are down and the hiking trails are packed. i LOVE los angeles in the spring.

2. If I could go anywhere for Spring Break this year, it would be…

Boston. my boyfriend and i LOVE to get away and we are dying to visit the historic town. so many sights to see and beers to drink. we would really love to be there for st. pattys day! i love all the greens of that holiday.

3. My favorite way to celebrate the season at home is by…

flowers+ outdoor brunches! every spring the local markets and flower shops put out the best of the best floral arrangements and colors.

it blows my mind how many flowers bloom come spring time. i relish in the smell every time i go flower shopping. when i come home, ill put them all up inside and outside and invite some friends over for a light outdoor brunch.

I also love to make sure that the smells in my home are fragrant and floral. jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, orchid…these scents are my bliss!

4. My Spring Cleaning projects/resolutions are…

organize organize organize and donate donate donate. spring is all about fresh starts and there is nothing better than feeling like your place is completely organized.

5. My must have for my Spring Wardrobe will be…

yellow! for some reason, this spring i am loving this color. its so bright and cheery and sends me into a good mood the minute i put it on.

6. My favorite way to bring the season into my home is…

sheets. during the winter i make sure my bed is super comfy with warm sheets, you know the jersey or the deep cotton blends that keep your warm. come spring time i love to switch to crisp white sheets or even floral sheets, i love the ones with a sateen finish. I also switch my heavy down comforter to a nice light quilt.

oh there is nothing better than good bedding!

Thanks Woman, for participating, and the rest of you need to head over to Secrets of Domestic Bliss and check out what she has goin’ on around there! p.s. It is 70 degrees in Chicago, I think this series is working its magic on Mother Nature!
