My nearest and dearest, and really anyone I have had a lengthy enough conversation with, know that The Baby Monster occasionally takes hold of me. I am the first to admit I am sort of awkward around kids, I talk in a super high pitched voice and the idea of holding a newborn gives me a generally overwhelming sense of anxiety (the are just so tiny and fragile!), but I still very much want a snuggly babyfriend of my own!
(My friend Katie’s baby makes my ovaries hurt, so. cute.)
I mean, really? I have to remind myself:
First comes love,
Then comes Marriage,
THEN comes the baby in the baby carriage.
So when one of my good friends, Katie, birther of that adorableness up above, asked me to post some nursury inspiration, at first I was all coy, like, oh yeah I’ll search around on the internets. Thennn I went to my super secret “babyroom” folder on my comp and…well…here ya go!

Any of you hot mamas out there have some nursury lines/resources to share?

Wow. Hands down I can say my favorite one is the room you have four shots of from Urban Grace – with the yellow and white striped bedskirt and roman shades and the lil’ nugget baby in the crib. So beautiful! I love everything about that room. The dresser is amazing.
Surprisingly, I was completely disappointed with how Erika decorated her nursery. I loved all the pieces as she was planning it… the fabrics, the gold crib, the polkadot bedding… and then the finished product was eh. I think the black shelves are part of the problem, or the two huge lamps on top of them. I don’t know. She’s one of my favorite favorite designers and that nursery just really felt flat in my eyes.
these rooms are stunning. i’ve always loved how whimsical you can make a nursery and still have it “work!”
THAT BABY IS SO FREAKING CUTE!!
I second KP. That child is delicious. Truly.
That is so cute that your ovaries hurt! So funny! I love all these rooms you had so many fun ones!
I suffer from a bad case of the baby monster disease too! I want one so, so bad.
Love the inspiration–quite a range of styles. I thought the ultra-neutral ones were gorge, but I’m not sure if they’d be practical. The ceiling-as-art idea in a bunch of the photos is really cool.
Right this second I envision a nursery for my unborn/not conceived baby girl with vibrant aqua walls and red and white accents, and the nursery for my unborn/not conceived baby boy with deep navy walls and white and gold or bright green accents. I’m sure my tastes will change a bunch before we finally have need of a nursery though.
I have a baby/kids’ room folder, too! And no kids…Some great images for me to add.
I am glad you posted this. My sister is looking for nursery ideas for a gender neutral nursery! I am sending her this link. P.S. Charlie is SUPER adorable!
oooh how much cuteness!!!! I love the yellow/white celling stripes!!
and what a cheeky gorgeous baby your friend has!!!
OMG – these are all adorable!! It’s funny that you posted these today – a few hours ago I had a conversation with a friend about my baby clock ticking and how much I can’t wait to decorate a nursery…but like you said – First comes love, then comes Marriage, THEN comes the baby in a carriage. PS that’s exactly what my sister told me…

oh these make me so happy! like little magical wonderlands. so so fun!
What a cutie pie! Serena and Lily has cute stuff, Land of Nod too (which is Crate and Barrel) and Posh Tots. Its really all in the mix as these amazing images illustrate! Have some of these in my computer…and some I have seen for the first time here, like Apple’s room! I die.
Three kids later and I still get really nervous holding a newborn! Their heads are so wobbly on their little necks…scares me!
YAY for the bestest most fantastic bloggy Queen in all the land! I am sending this to everyone I know. Charlie wants a date with his BQD as soon as you arrive in H-town!!!!
As another one of Charlie’s fans, I can second the notion that he is indeed induces ovarian spasms.
Wow, you have quite the inspiration folder! So many great ideas, I like the tree mural with the little bird houses attached to it. So cute!
Hey! I always come across your blog, but just now started reading! I have a nursery that I’m about to post my before and after’s. It’s my son’s nursery that was featured in Southern Living’s “Before & Afters” last June. You’ve may have already seen it on Blueprint Bliss a while back. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and say I love all the photos you posted. I’m working on my baby girl’s nursery now and I found some great ideas.
Thanks!
Um I know exaaaactly what the baby monster is, I spend more time on Gilt Children browsing than on Gilt Women. These rooms are amazing, I want my room to look like these!!
What a great collection of inspiration!
Could you please email me the website where I could purchase the yellow and white striped window treatments? Or even just the fabric. I have been searching for that fabric for some roman shades. I cannot find that wide yellow and white striped fabric anywhere. thanks for your help, sincerely, Paige Myrick
