“Mawwage. Mawwage” Lauren of Pure Style Home

Hi, It’s Lauren from Pure Style Home just popping over for a guest post while Bailey gets married!!

{A pic of me on my wedding day:  Oct 8, 2005}
Bailey’s asked us guest bloggers to tell you our favorite memory from our wedding day.  (Ok, and my answer excludes the wedding night ;)    My favorite memory is probably just dancing like a madwoman at the reception.  It’s so much fun to dance at weddings, especially when they’re playing your favorite songs!!
And my favorite memories from our marriage are probably our boys being born…  There’s nothing like a new baby and it’s amazing to when they get here…  (I am getting so cheesy on here- sorry!!)
{me & my husband a couple of weeks ago}

My wedding advice is that not everything will go as planned on the “big day,” but know that & get over it, and realize that you’re marrying the love of your life…  who cares if the party isn’t exactly as you’d envisioned?  Keep your priorities straight and nobody likes a Bridezilla.  ;)   .. And also, spend as much time with your new spouse as you can.  You’ll be pulled in a million directions on your wedding day but it’s most important to spend it with him.

Ok, and this wasn’t asked but someone gave this advice to me on marriage & I think it’s good:  Always focus on making the other person happy and putting him/ her first (not yourself)…

Bailey- have a beautiful wedding and I’m so happy for you!!!

xoxo, Lauren

Honeymoon Guest Post: Fallon of A Lovely Being

Petey and I are still off enjoying our honeymoon, but I just wanted to take a second and say “HI!!” and introduce you to today’s guest-blogger Fallon of A Lovely Being. My wedding hangover has already begun, so I thought you guys might want to rest your eyeballs on some non-wedding related posts for a moment here. The second I stumbled upon Fallon’s blog I wanted to be her realfriend, I love everything about it from its design to her posts. Then I met Fallon when she moved to Chicago for the summer, and I loved everything about her too. So, everyone, please give a warm welcome to Fallon!

Lately, my boyfriend and I have been dreaming of taking a trip to South America. We’d love to work on an organic farm for a few weeks, but a relaxing vacation in Buenos Aires would be nice, too. After he graduated from college in 2008, he spent six months travelling around Southeast Asia—he hasn’t travelled since! He’s been absolutely itching to go somewhere exotic as of late. We’re thinking that we might make our great espacpe in December when he has a few weeks off from work. We shall see :)

“Mawwage…Mawwage” Paloma of La Dolce Vita

Today’s post was graciously provided by Paloma of La Dolce Vita. If you come around here you probably already know of her and her lovely blog, if not, go check it out!
Thanks so much for sharing, Paloma!

Bailey{Fabian and I at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona during our 5th Anniversary trip, July 2010}

If nothing else, marriage is an adventure, and if you’re very lucky, it’s one  that you embark on with your best friend by your side. As much as I love it when Fabian and I can just hang out at home, my favorite memory from our five year marriage has been seeing the world together. I’ve always had a major case of wanderlust and it’s been really nice to impart my love of travel on him. Discovering new places, sights, and cultures together is such an amazing experience. I feel like you take away so much more from a beautiful place when you’ve visited it with the person you love.

{Fabian and I at the Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona July 2010}

I guess you could say our travel adventures began with our wedding. Fabian and I were married in a 300 year old cathedral in Monterrey, Mexico, where my family is from on July 1, 2005. Since then, we’ve done a fair share of traveling together: New York, San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma, San Miguel de Allende, Paris, Rome, Florence, and London. This past July marked our fifth anniversary and naturally, we decided to celebrate with a big trip! I traveled to Spain with one of my close friends a couple of years ago and the entire time, I wished Fabian had been there to see everything with me, so for our anniversary, we decided to explore Barcelona together. Fabian and I both fell in love with the beautiful city and are planning to go back sooner rather than later. As much as we loved seeing Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces, wandering through the Gothic Quarter, and eating tapas and drinking wine until we nearly burst, the best thing about it was experiencing it all for the first time together.

Bailey and Pete, I wish you all of the happiness in the world and hope that you will embark on countless adventures together. Savor every moment!

“Mawwage. Mawwage.” Ashlina of The Decorista

When I met Ashlina of The Decorista a few months ago in LA I was like, first, lady, you are ridiculous looking and you intimidate me with your pretties. And then I was like, are you for real? You are so nice. And she was. And I love her. And I love her blog, and you guys probably do too because-why wouldn’t you. But just in case you don’t-yet-go and say “hi!”
Thank you so much Ashlina,
xoxo
Bailey
LOVE is in the air people!!!
Pete + Bailey are getting married and I could not be more thrilled for these two.
If you haven’t met them yet, you are surely missing out on lots of laughter and ridiculous smiles.
I will be thinking of you both this weekend, congratulations on the beginning of your lives together!
I heard these words at church last week and I want to share them with you…
Best of luck this weekend B! I know you will be such a beautiful bride…

“Mawwage. Mawwage.” Modg

I don’t know what to say about this lady that hasn’t already been said. She rules. She is an internet toilet-posing superstar, she shoots magicsparkles of funny through my computer screen every day, has a super handsome husby and about to have a super-Shilohesque plankton baby. If you are confused by any of those things, you have a lot of catching up to do. Go read her blog and you are welcome for having a fantastic day.

Thank YOU MODG- Big Britney Pregnant Barefoot Jorts Kisses to you.

xoxo

Bailey

I have so many favorite memories from my wedding. I couldn’t decide so you get 3. The first one is a picture that actually made Glamour Magazine because B makes crazy faces. This is the face he made when he realized that he was supposed to memorize his vows, like I did, and spent all day practicing. He. did. not.
The next picture isn’t our first kiss. It’s right BEFORE our first kiss when it all really hit me and all of our friends and family were there in this intimate little candlelit room and it was a really awesome wonderful feeling. Also you can see my dress. Whatever.

And finally, I like to tell people that this is a picture of me and B but it’s actually my dad and I. I love this picture because you see the whole wedding. You can see friends and family, the ballroom, the lighting, the whole thing and it brings me right back to that day. Also my pretty flower in my hair. But again, whatever.

My marriage I have to say has been completely awesome. I didn’t think it could get better, but it does. You find a way and you fit together and you learn to accept his under the cover farts and he learns to accept the 39 outfits you throw on the floor before you go out to dinner. And things get smiley. Picking a favorite memory is hard. But the day we saw our son (who will be here in 5 months!) on the ultrasound together was incredible. Seeing the actual person on the screen that came from us was mind blowing. I can’t imagine what it will be like when he’s actually here. But that was a great moment for us both.

Bailey, have an amazing wedding! I have so much wedding advice and here are a few things I would have done differently….

Go to your cocktail hour. We planned pictures then and it was stupid. I would have preferred to eat and drink and be with our guests.

There is seriously a camera on you at all times. You are basically Britney Spears. Don’t stop smiling and don’t leave your husband’s side.

Don’t try and make your hair and makeup look like a bride. Look like yourself on your hottest night out ever. Your pictures will thank you.

Poop BEFORE the wedding.

Good luck and can’t wait for pictures!

Amanda (MODG)
