More werk inspiration…

My latest client needs help with her kids rooms. FINALLY an excuse for my extensive “baby room inspiration” files that Pete finds so creepy. See Pete! I not creep, I’ms a serious bizness woman decorator lady!

The best part of the client project is that I will be decorating a room for a little girl:The little girl is adorable and obviously obsessed with Pink. The goal is going to be to do pink in a way that will grow with her so that her poor parents don’t have to redecorate every year.LOVE this from the latest Lonny, but I don’t think my wee client will let orange into the room. Pink and purple only. Strict orders.Too much pink and purple? Probably. But it would be fuunnnn.

There is also a wee precious boys room:via The Zhush

Love the stripes.Betsey Burnham via Decor Demon

Love this room, but might be a bit grown up for this little guy.Steven Gambrel

My client wants to do a map wall which I am all in favor of. Ashley Whittaker

Maps, yes good, and also some painted furniture which will be happening here.

And a newborn, sex currently undetermined, baby!

I distinctly remember some fab ladyblogger decorator did this room and I cannot for the life of me recall…please let me know if you do so I can give credit!

**UPDATE** Thank you Camila for reminding me that it was Caitlin Creer! Fab.

Love this take on the typical yellow and green sad “gender-neutral” solutions.Estee Lauder lady did it too…Fun, no?
This inspiration board that Jenny did for a clients nursery is one of my favorite rooms ever ever in the history of ever. I would live in this room in a second.I don’t know if they would go this funky fresh, but we all still love this, don’t we?

Thank goodness I am able to work with clients petitte baguettes. I find that proximity to other peoples adorable children keeps my own babymonster from completely taking over. Which is good because I think Pete and I maybe need to be married for more than 5 seconds before we think about unleashing what are sure to be truly absurd children on the world.

Feeling Sheepish.

I am considering an official family mascot.

I am sure you have already met, Mabel. We love her dearly, but she is an outdoor lamb.

And I think we need an inside lamb as well.

Artist Francois-Xavier Lalanne to the rescue. He made all these little guys, and I love them.Aren’t they just adorable?Am I just completely bizarre or are you feelin’ them too?Maybe not a whole heard to start out with…

Just one little fuzzy buddy.

Sensible, really.

I love Helena, I do not love bikers.

First of all, I am guest posting today on “My Stuff” at Helena of A Diary of Lovely’s blog. Helena is a blog rockstar. I don’t know how she has the patience/kindness to leave the most thoughtful, smile inducing comments, create inspiring posts and still go about her daily life in London, but I am thrilled that she does. Please go say hi to her, won’t you?

Also, if you could also tell me what in God’s Green Earth this is all about:

I would be very much obliged.

Pete and I were battling the mostly raucus traffic ever today when this Goofy Grasshopper jumped out in front of us and I didn’t quite know what to do.

Pete, in his ever understated way just goes, “You have GOT to be kidding me” as he nearly curbed our wheels to avoid stretch armstrong.

Part of me was like, “Yeesh Mister Pete, Watch out!!” another, more primal part of me was like, “ELIMINATE this clear sign of the end of human evolution”. I mean how dumb/in need of a high do you need to be to ride upon two scant wheels in rush hour traffic LACKING A HELMET NO LESS teetering two stories above horse-powered traffic. Why.Are.Humans.So.Dumb. If you want to live dangerously, move to Rio. Otherwise, stay the fuck out of my commute.

Please and Thank-You kindly.

Quin B Studio: Office Space

Pete has generously donated what was originally supposed to be his “man room” to Quin B Studios to serve as temporary headquarters until I can find more permanent accommodations.

Isn’t that sweet of him?

The space above our garage apartment had formerly been used to store our furniture while the house was under construction… …And it is in need of some T.L.C.

The space is super wonky and lacks all symmetry, flow, proper allocation of space etc. soooo figuring out the floor plan/decor scheme was a bit tricky, but I think I’ve got a plan.I need lots of storage for fabrics etc., two desks, a seating area, and a small space for a cafe table.

That little bump out area that leads out onto the deck will be my hardcore work, get down to bidness area.Adjacent to that is a glorified wet bar, where I will put a round table for mid-day snickety snacks.Want to see my super high-tech professional rendition of how this is all going to come together?Nice…right?I am painting out the whole dang thing in a deep, high gloss blue. Kind of like Miles did, here. Hoping that makes the weird architectural issues fade away.

One of these days I will get myself a pure, white, bright studio…But for now I have to keep in mind that the space will soon be reclaimed by Pete’s manliness, and I don’t want to make too many changes that would femme up his butch paradise. But there will be lots of inspiration boards…And my entire collection of back issues of Domino will be let out to breathe and I will love and caress them and be surrounded by perfectly organized buckets of fabrics and it will induce decorating brilliance and lead me to my long-anticipated best friendship with a one, Ms. Britney Spears.

I will report back in 2 weeks…maybe 3…with fabulousness.

Well that is very sweet…

…but seriously, how much do I weigh?

Even though I am pretty certain that after this weekend it would be much better to just. not. know.

Normally it is a battle of what goes in my mouth first, betwixt the salty and the sweet, but thanks to the discovery of salted, chocolate covered caramels from Whole Foods I no longer need to make that kind of Sophie’s Choice when I am eating my emotions. Unfortunately I WILL need new pants if I keep these shenanigans up, so off to the gym I go. I have a busy week and dragging around an extra chin or three really just isn’t an option.

How was your weekend?
