I luh Ewe.

Guys, I haven’t been this happy since Britney was making her glorious comeback on the Circus tour (which I saw 4 times in 4 different cities…just saying…) and I feel like this time *more* of you will be able to relate to my idol worship.

I’m in love, I’m in love, I’m in love and I DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS IT!!

And not with Pete, although I do have very strong feelings for him as well. No, the gentleman that has been sending my heart into love spasms lately is a one Mister Miles Redd.

To be fair, this love affair has been going for awhile now. The first two rooms I saved for my inspiration binder way back before I even knew about blogging were a Miles Redd design, (Remember this guy in Domino??)

And then the Domino spread done by his protege at the time, Nick Olsen:(This apartment done by Olsen is still my dream, all 2sq feet of it…perfection)

I would say we are design soulmates, but I feel that would be disservice to the man because he is way, way better than I could ever be.

And I am not just being modest, I really am not comfortable with this kind of extreme admiration for another. It makes me feel uncool, and like I am at a defecit, and on my blog at LEAST if not in life I prefer to be the coolest and the best.

Don’t even get me started on his own home:

Miles and I do have a few things in common. He is southern.

He calls himself a maximalist, which I would say is a pretty good way to describe my design aesthetic even if the results aren’t quite this rad.

So before my love for Miles was super random and clandestine. Lots of bloggers knew and worshipped him, but since he has a self-admitted aversion to technology there wasn’t an endless amount of his work online. Which is cool, I like a man who plays hard to get.

But then like a special wedding present just for me November came and my friend Fallon interviewed him for her blog, sending me into a tailspin of destructive jealousy which like all good bloggers I channeled into fake congratulatory comments on her post.

I’m kidding Fallon, sort of…

On top of that Miles was also featured in this months Elle Decor

Which was exciting even though I am certain I had already seen some of this work before…

And in Veranda…This house is actually in my home town of Houston…And if someone could kindly tell me who these radfolks are so that I can find them and stalk them immediately…that would be fantastic.

This is Miles second spread for the newly revamped Veranda…

Don’t even get me started on the Earlier Veranda spread:

And if they continue to feature him bi-monthly, I will continue to buy multiple issues so that I can preserve one, sleep with one, and cut the other up for inspiration.

So thank you Fallon for your wonderful interview, and Splendid Sass for letting my steal all of the hard work you already did scanning these spreads. Thank you Elle and Veranda for feeding my Miles addiction, and thank you Nick Olsen for giving us behind-the-scenes scoop on “Mugatu’s” work, and for generating your own awesome spaces that also really turn me on.

But most of all, thank you Miles for not being mediocre at all, in anything.

Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to go spend some time with my piano.

Amazing round up Bailey! I have seen a good portion of these rooms before but I’m horrible with names of designers and stuff. That Domino bedroom is one of my favorites and so ingrained in my memory.

I share your love – Miles can do no wrong! I have to hold myself back from posting about his work…I’m afraid my blog is going to turn into a creepy Miles fan club!

I’m with Chedva – 12 step program would be good. That’s the most I’ve seen of the Houston house (Veranda) – IN.SANE.
    King Mugatu.

P.S. – You gonna be in H-town at all during the holidays? We’re heading to Tejas mid December, could possibly work in a blogstress meet-up.

My pleasure. You’re not alone, haha. Anything for the Miles Movement as I like to call it! I am going to have to do my own interview one of these days.
    Have a great day!
