If you lived here, you’d be home now.

Firstly’s: I am guest posting on the lovely Paloma of La Dolce Vita and High Gloss Magazine’s blog today, giving my list of the 10 Things I Can’t Live Without, and knowing what’s on that list should probably be on your list of what you can’t live without, so check it.

When Pete and I were looking for homes here in Chicago we must have looked at nearly 100 different listings before settling upon Clifford, The Big Red House. We saw some pretty fly digs, but all of them were decorated so stuffy mcgee. Not once did I see a place and think, I want to have a beverage with these people, they seem pretty cool. Which is saying a lot, because I like to have a beverage with a lot of people.

But then PeteyBoy sent me this listing:

Now the REASON he sent me this listing, is because it is in this building on Armitage, mere blocks from our abode.

As Pete frequently reminds me, the coach house where I am currently preparing to office is only on loan from him until he claims his position as rightful owner of The Man Room (vom) and so I am constantly on the lookout for more permanent digs. I am obsessed with that building and just think I could do amazingly creative things in that little half circle space. Summer Thornton has one, afterall- …And she does cool things.

I had convinced myself that SURELY the landlord would rent me one of their sad little apartments that I would make beauteous with my sparkle dust in exchange for a break on rent, kind of like Grant Gibson.

Little did I know it was secretly so fabulous. I guess QuinBStudios will have to take up permanent residence elsewhere.

First off, I’m a first time reader/commenter. I, too, am a fellow Chicagoan, and fell in love with your “Top 10″ over on La Dolce Vita’s blog and decided to make my way over here!

Secondly, I must now pick up my jaw off the floor. I am in complete and utter envy of the listing. I hope you guys choose that one! It’s absolutely fab!

PS I took could sustain off bread and liquor alone. Salute!

    Hi Bailey,
I’ve live in Chicago since 2002 and have always loved that building. I never would have imagined that it looked like that inside. Thanks for sharing! -Becca
    PS- Love your blog!

That place is AMAZING! And, I can’t believe it’s on Armitage. For shame that a place so fabulous exists in Chicago and I had nary a warning. I want it to be mine, all mine.

I live in Lincoln Park and I am constantly looking at real estate in our area and I found this place when it was still listed and I was obsessed! I would look at it numerous times a day. So amazing! I was also really in love with Summer Thornton’s place and stalked the window views enough to come to think that they are in the same building. I want to live there too!
