Oprah told me that if I visualized my dream and singularly focused on it long and hard enough, it would happen.
AND IT HAS NOT HAPPENED.
Britney Spears and I have not yet met. HOW, I ask you, is this possible? Well, I think I kind of blew it this time.
So for this tour Britney was offering meet and greet tickets. I knew it. I planned for it. I counted down the days until they went on sale. And then I plum forgot, for just long enough to have them all sold out from under me. And then there was a rage. Electronics may or may not have been thrown on the floor. There was a deluge of tears. Hopelessness. Darkness. Fear.
Pete asked me how I could forget such a thing. I wanted to hit him. Then I started to reach out to all of my contacts to see if anything, anything at all would be possible to set things right in the universe. And my dear friend Shaden tried her hardest, which was ever so kind. Not just her trying, but her taking me seriously enough to decide this was worth her time. But alas, there was no meeting or greeting for Britney and me.
But I still went last night, full on 9 months pregnant, to dance until the world ends.
Left: On my way to my first of 4 Britney shows I saw on the Circus show Right: Heading to Femme Fatale last night
If you truly love Britney, this show will make your heart sing.
Overall Pete and I agreed that Circus was a better show, a more impressive and tighter more spectacular production. But that Circus felt like cirque du soleil inspired by Britney, and Femme Fatale is all Britney. And if you are going to a Britney show, that’s what you want, right?
What’s that you say? My husband has informed opinions on Britney Spears shows?
Why yes, he does. He accompanied me to Circus in Chicago when I had a broken foot, and escorted me tonight. And not with a bad attitude like I saw a few husbands sporting. He stood the whole time, even when I had to sit for a spell. I love my husband.
Anyway, Circus may have been a better spectacle, but Britney was better on this tour.
She seemed like she was in charge. She sang. Live. And sounded really good.
She interacted with the audience a lot, they even brought audience members on stage at various points, and she seemed really happy and comfortable and free.
And looked like a freakin’ boss.
There is just something so sparkly and magical about Britney. AND something that makes her fans want to dress like straight up street walkers. You should have SEEN some of the ensembles. Amazing people watching.
Anyway, it pains me that Britney and I haven’t met yet. I feel like I have unfinished business going into this new phase of my life as a mother with such a big item remaining on my to-do list. I feel like maybe as a mother Britney Spears worship becomes even less cute than I am sure it already is.
But I couldn’t quit her if I wanted to. I just love her so. And I also would really like to look like her in a sparkly unitard. Another item to add to the to-doosie list.

I would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below!
Ohhhh the outfits! She was in Vegas a few weeks ago (we didn’t know it originally). My mom and I kept trying to figure out where all those skantily clad children were going…and then we saw the poster.
I spy some pretty sweet Kate Spade beaded necklaces… Jealous.
i am going to see her tomorrow night in new orleans! i can’t wait!!
You are just adorable- I’m quite sure you’ll meet her one day…think that’s pretty much meant to be:)
You’re adorable and I’m pretty sure you’ll meet her one day- seems meant to be!!
I’m a mom and still have an intense obsession with Britney Spears. It will never fade and as far as I’m concerned is still totally adorable. I met my husband when I was dressed as Britney so she is now forever a part of our marriage. Don’t worry Oprah won’t lead you astray.
You should tweet her that side by side picture of you! She responds to people sometimes. Do it!
You totally need to meet my friend kristin… we call her kiki and she is OB-sessed with Brit Brit.
I was there last night also! My Manfriend surprised me with tickets Tuesday night. Boys/Men/Husbands that do these kind of things for us are the best in the entire world.
Ohhh! Look at you! Way to stay chic at nine months, lady! You look fabulous!
Glad you had fun!
You guys are the cutest. Seriously. And you look so good!
Maybe this post will go viral and you’ll get to meet Britney. Hey, it worked for the soldier who asked out Mila Kunis…
You are too funny! Your posts always make me laugh.
There were meet and great tickets???? Shoooooot. Oh well, see you there Sezzie. I can’t wait!!
239834320 Cool mom points for GMcB having already gone to a B Spears concert.
bailey, you’re hilarious. i’m surprised GMcB didn’t make her grand entrance at the show
I am so happy to read that you’re a big Britney fan!! I have been in love with her since her first album. I was at the Chicago (and Milwaukee…) show too. I cried. I am determined to meet her on her next tour–and I’m sure you and GMcB (who will be girly McToddler by the next tour) will be meeting her around that time too!
This post made me smile. Just go on being yourself! I get silly about the New Kids on the Block but no one’s gonna stop me from having fun.
Your blog does make me smile! You look great!
Totally love Britney, and as I always remind my daughter, “there are only 2 types of guys in the world, one’s that can hang and one’s that are scared”, hope I got that quote right. Looks like you had a blast.
I love this post so much! The concert was amazing last night and your point of view is always hilarious!
I wrote a post about the night too. And semi-similar experiences!

I kinda feel like you and me are soulmates..is that weird?
Why you ask? I have never found another person with an affinity for Britney like myself but until I found your blog! I ♥ Britney so…everyone who knows me knows it! Haha! I even tell people me and Brit-Brit are BFFs…that might be going a little far–whoops!
Oh it’s cute alright! I have been a fan since “Hit me baby one more time” and don’t think I will stop loving her. She is the best. ever.
LA- oh don’t worry, I did it. Before the show. No love. Sads.
