So now I am too.
I am still not quite sure why I need to be on it. I use it a lot to find images, but I am told it will change my whole blogging world so I have been spending a lot of my precious free time uploading pictures I have had saved on my computer for ages. So far I have three boards, bathrooms, bedrooms, and kid spaces. But soon all of my inspiration will be on there…and then what I am not sure.
For your purposes though, you should follow me. And also maybe explain to me what I am missing that makes pinterest so amazing, I wanna be amazed!! Do any of you wordpress users find it useful? I get why it is good to find inspiration, but I am not sure why it isn’t easier just to save what I find to my computer and blog about it from there.
I’m confused.
Also, not sure what that picture has to do with anything, but I found it on pinterest and feel like that is how I want to live. In a bed with some cake.
And my baby.

Grace is so cute – I love that you are posting so many pictures of her! Seriously one beautiful baby
Pinterest is amazing for bloggers becasue it saves the “source” website where an image is pinned from. It takes the guess work out of trying to remember where you found an image so you can always give proper credit when posting images… It’s also just pretty to look at. Ispiration for the soul… If you “follow” amazing people and their pin-boards it’s just a constant stream of stylish images…
Hope YOU are doing well adjusting to being a mom – from the looks of it you seem to be doing an amazing job!!
I feel the same way about Pinterest-I just joined a few days ago and I guess I’m still learning the ropes. The best part about Pinterest to me, is that I added the “Pin It” button on my browser, and it lets me easily save things like clothes, jewelry, what not, much quicker than saving the file to my computer…and it’s fun to see what my friends are pinning! I will be your next follower! xoxo
Pintrest is so amazing because it saves the web address along with the image, so in the future you are not like… “oh nose.. where did I find this beautiful image?” Not to mention the app for iphone is super helpful when stuck waiting for something. It is an easy way to browse beautiful images and relax much more productive than stalking on facebook.
Thank you for getting back to posting! I have missed reading about your life.
I feel the same way about Pinterest…I joined, but don’t really get it! I like some of the images I find, but unless I’m not using it correctly, I want also have a link to where the image can be found to buy or a blog that will tell me how to make that image. Did I miss the memo!?
I can’t explain it, either. I just know it’s the most addictive thing I’ve experienced in a long time.
I think it has something to do with the stream-of-consciousness creativity that happens for me with it.
I’ll follow yo quirky self!
I think it just makes finding inspiration easier since it is all in one spot and you find things you didn’t even know what you are looking for. I’m addicted too but use it less for blogging than for inspiration in my own life. I like it for looking for new ways to put my boring closet together into cute outfits, craft projects for the kids I sit for and craft projects for myself! I’m definitely going to follow you
And I love Grace’s eyes! So big and beautiful and full of wonder! I hope she never loses that wonder!
I’m going to go ahead and say it: not all babies are “cute”.. some of them are squishy and need to grow into their faces. YOUR baby? ADORABLE. Like, eyes watering adorable. She makes my very non-maternal, non-financially stable, non-graduated from law school self actually WANT a baby, stat. must stop looking at Grace. but I just wanna squishhercheeekkksss!! OOWW!
I’m getting married and my bridesmaids and I are spread out in different states so we are using it to post ideas for different aspects of the wedding. Also plan to use when I buy/build a house to plan for decor
Bailey I’ve beeen following you on there for quite some time now! I love it because as I’m going about my day and find things I love for whatever purposes – home, shopping, books, etc, it is the easiest place to put them and remember where they came from – it is all about keeping the reference to the website! I think it is going to put tumblr to bed for good.
Grace just made me laugh out loud! Her eyes are SO big and beautiful.
,,,i’m so happy someone (YOU) asked the questions. i joined pinterest several weeks ago and before joining found myself often purusing page after page and saved image after image in a folder i deemed “pinterest” for my reference,,,i still haven’t created my own boards on the website, but i do understand the advantage in doing so,,,baby grace is yummy!,,,(smile)
I had the same questions and wondered if it was useful for non-bloggers too. I know bloggers use it for referencing purposes. But beyond that, I was like, “ok?”
Beyond pinterest, I also don’t get why some bloggers who have a blog also have a tumbler. Isn’t tumbler just another blog site? So why have two blogs? Me no get. Somebody explain please.
I have found tons of great recipes, DIY crafts, and fashion looks that I have copied from pinterest. It’s just a really great collection of creative things that inspire.
There are so many reasons I love pinterest but to keep things plain and simple here are my top 3
1. Sourcing
2. Inspiration
3. Procrastination
Bonus- Seeing what my friends like/love
Pinterest = the rabbit hole. When the little guy I nanny for is asleep, I waste all of my time wandering around “pinning”. People with “real lives” don’t know what the hell I’m talking about when I say that.
Dreams.
Plus, there’s nothing quite like pinning things you’ll never afford, never look like and never actually have the culinary guts to make
That little nugget is adorable, and those eyes are phenomenal.
darned cute baby!
Ha! I went to “Like” Molly’s comment.
But she hit the nail on the head.
When you save photos to your desktop, forget taking space for a moment, you’re likely to forget the original source. Not only does Pinterest keep the original track back URL saved, but it also acts as a storage device.
My website is still on Blogger, so when I want to post a pin, I can just blog with the image link so I don’t have to use up extra space on Blogger/Picasa, but now it is easily linked to its original spot on the interwebs.
I could go on infitinitely about the inspiration (I have over 50 boards and over 700 followers, follow me and you’ll see what I mean)…like just the stuff on pallets alone. Dude, you can do like eleventy million things with those suckers. For reals
Oh, ps: http://www.pinterest.com/thedesignjunkie
you know, for research purposes
Oh, and for Beverly above, I only use my Tumblr for reblogging images, and for pinning stuff I like. I don’t use it to “bloggy blog”
