I can hardly believe my girl is two months old already!
And that we are still cooped up with a two month old baby, two dogs, and way too much stuff in a tiny apartment.
But it will all be over soon! Moving this weekend! Thank Britney!
In keeping with our goal not to let the stuff crush our spirits in our tiny confines, we really haven’t added all that much STUFF to our collection.
The baby bjorn bouncer I mentioned in my last post has really become a hit as it has cooled down enough here to eat outside.
Gracie LOVES to dine al fresco.
I have been holding out on buying a swingy chair, despite their considerable charms, because we just do not have the space for it.
Although I have seen the Baby Bjorn entertainment attachments, Gracie told me she would really prefer a seat with more massage/soothing capabilities.
So we went with this guy:
It vibrates, lights up, plays music or nature sounds…And it is the same “theme” as her playmat, which is also rainforrest by Fischer Price, so it is like she has the same friends everywhere she goes.
Which brings me to her play mat.
These things are like baby reality TV. Babies LOVE them. As I mentioned the mat we bought for her was the Fischer Price Rainforrest guy. Which I thought was super festive. And she really enjoys it.
But then we were given this mat as a baby gift from a family friend.
This mat came with a sort of travel cover so we took it to Aspen and discovered that while Gracie likes her Rainforrest friends just fine, she passionately loves her Woodland pals. It doesn’t light up or have fancy music, but Gracie is a simple gal, and this mat sets her spirits soaring. Plus it is super cute.
Finally, in her second month of life Gracie has developed crazy force per square inch super human swaddle busting strength. You would swaddle her up nice and snug. Place her gently in her crib, kiss her on her sweet little nose, and close the door and she would bust on out of that swaddle like CAN’T HOLD ME (shut em down) GET OFF ME (shut em down). But then she would scream and cry because really she enjoys the cozy confines of a good swaddle, she just can’t control her crazy baby strength. Enter in the Swaddle Me.
aka The Baby Straight Jacket.
She can’t bust out of this one. A good nights sleep for all!
Now since we are movin’ on up imminently please tell me what the most fabulous bitty baby toys are. What are some fun games and projects I can do with my teensy tiny boogaloo.
xoxo

I would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below!
I’m still in shock with all the things babies need! The straight jacket takes the cake, although I see its’ obvious usefulness! Also, HOLY MESS on how much Grace has changed in just one months time. CRAZY.
Hi. I read your darling blog but don’t often comment. I’m so happy to see your precious little Gracie doing awesome. Love that patio, too! When my 3 year old was little, I just cringed at the thought of getting all these swings and mats that really hurt my eyes and design aethetic. But my family broke me down – we were also given a mat and guess what? My little one LOVED it! I’ve since broken down A LOT over things I thought were not so pretty…sparly light-up Sketchers for example. Whatever makes these little ones happy – I’m all for it now! xo
Q-have you checked out the 4moms line of baby products (specifically the Mamaroo & Origami)? They will change your life!
Hello! I’m not a mommy but I bought my co-worker a Sophie Giraffe for her bitty baby boy when he was first born… She says he LOVES it! Not only is Sofie adorable but I guess she makes an ideal chew toy that’s easy to take everywhere and perfect for little chubby hands to grip. Get her! Plus all the best celeb babies have one… so.. you know Grace should be part of that club.

xxoo!
our son loved the colorful rings by bright starts that link together. Perfect for carseat entertainment. He also loved the classic stacking rings by fisher price, this little bug by bright starts that makes funny sounds (at Target) and the cheeks light up pink. There is also a ball at target that is easy for infants to hold onto that has a ball inside that jingles…also very entertaining. We started reading super early and he seemed to love that.
I am laughing so hard. I love this B. You are too funny.
Definitely laughed out loud. So funny
and PLEASE tell me where those gorgeous patio chairs are from!!
Happy 2 months to Miss Gracie!
We used the Swaddle Me for a while and it did work for a while btu our little one busted out of that. Then we got the miracle blanket….amazeballs!! Truly a miracle – this kept her totally snug and there was no chance of her breaking out of it. We only took her out of it when she started to roll over, which of course you’d do anyways with any swaddle blanket. Give it a try – I promise you wont regret it!!
The vibrating chair changes lives. I think my 4 year old would still sit in it if he would fit. Odd, but he also loved bubbles blowing around him (great outdoor activity) and feathers (i.e. a boa). He would just stare and touch all day long. Cheap thrills!
Oh.my.word. Do they sell those adorable owl slippers in adult sizes?

We also loved the Swaddleme. Then J got too big for them, as in the velcro didn’t wrap all the way across, but was still too small for the next size up. Enter the Swaddlepod. This thing looks like a straight jacket. No velcro, just a zipper and the material has enough give to let them move their arms, but they don’t break out of it.
OWL KICKS! XO love.
she looks VERY similar to fiona when she was tiny baby. i am gonna rustle up some picture so you can see.
i miss swaddling her.
Oh, Bailey. I remember wanting so much to buy toys for my little one and now I think, “How much did I spend on those toys that he never cared about?” I’d say he really became interested in toys when he was 18 months old; otherwise he made toys out of whatever was ours– he loved leather belts, especially to chew on them. The first thing he learned to grip was a burp cloth, so he’d chew on and play with that, and eventually could hold onto a soft little toy by Bunnies By The Bay. We bought him the dog, which went with him everywhere in his mouth: http://www.bunniesbythebay.com/product_information.cfm?ProductID=520&Category=63
When he realized that he could shake things and make noise (maybe 6 months old?) then he wanted EVERYTHING to be shakable. I’d go with something that makes a nice hearty noise (as opposed to a stuffed animal that has a rattle in it) like these maracas http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Mini-Maracas-Set-6/dp/B000CBUQSI
or these http://www.amazon.com/Maracito-Individual-Maraca-Color-Vary/dp/B000H6H4II/ref=pd_sim_t4 because their hands are so tiny they can’t wrap around anything big (which is why a thin, plush toy is easy to hold). I’m not going to go bonkers with the toys this time around until my baby is approaching 2 years old. We had the Sophie too and I wanted him to love it, but he loved leather belts much more.
ahh i can’t wait to meet her! and see YALL!
I’m relatively new to your blog, but I love it. By the way, I love the owl slippers and your daughter sitting front in center while you are able to sit back and enjoy a meal with a little vino. Life is good
Love Grace and the vino
Her eyes are wide like she was caught!
