Speaking of Gracie’s playroom…And other things.

Right now, if you were a betting person, I would not put money on me ever getting my act together to have the house photographed.

So for now, please accept these humble iPhone pics of Gracie’s playroom/our family room.

Her circuit is in the non-photographed corner of the room…I can accept their necessary presence in my life but that doesn’t mean I want to take pictures of the tons of baby gear.

Also, as you can probably tell, there is a lot of Clifford influence here at the new place…We never really got to live in the Chicago house long enough to enjoy it,  and so in a few cases I just redid it with a few upgrades. Like the gold disco ball in here. Which, by the way, is the ultimate baby gear. Gracie LOVES it.

Also from the ol’ iPhone:

Real life ombre. Pretty.

Also, I wish I were a boy. Pete and I had one of our first big nights on the town Saturday and got some bad ice in a drink or two, and were hurting on Sunday. I allowed myself a break from my diet for some goldfish. Pete roasted brussel sprouts and mushrooms and layered about two pounds of various deli meats and a wheel of brie to make this face sized sandwich. I cannot even imagine what that kind of caloric freedom would feel like.

Finally, how to make the rainbow cupcakes…Make the batter, separate into bowls for each color you plan to do. Dye each bit of batter with food coloring. With either a squeezey bottle or a spoon put just enough of each color batter in the cupcake pan to spread out and cover the layer. About a tablespoons worth. Let bake as usual and witness the pretty!

I thought they looked pretty cool without the icing.

I would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below!

Inlove your chic playroom! Question: is the fabric on your ottoman Old World Weavers? It looks like what I’m planning to use on a bench for our living room. Did you do it custom?

I always say I had bad ice! My poor popa doesn’t get out much & the first time I told him he felt real sorry for me & told his friends like I got a hold of some bad shrimp. Whoopsie!

House looks great! love the playroom
I am a montessori sort of mom so I want all of their toys acessible and easy to be seen so I just went with it and have a straight up TOY ROOM. Kids – and you will have more right??? – are here for the very long term future so just embrace it.

Only cuz you asked – I am not totally into the product reviews but only because my kiddos are 8,5 and 3. Doesn’t offend me in the least that you do them!! I read them but more of a skim. Your design stuff I savor every word. But any reference to your actual life makes you seem real and credible so it’s all good.

On other fronts – make a pinterest board for me for my bday party inspiration. Think: formal funk, glitter, sparkle, inspiration (as in inspiring words, phrases all about) crazy dress up dance party in funky run down (bit dicey neighborhood!) venue!!

love the room bailey! i was wondering how you transistion from white woodwork in your kitchen for example, to orange or other colored woodwork in another room. i love the idea of using colored woodwork, and noticed you have some black woodwork in your foyer and now orange in this room.

Hi I absolutely love your blog, you have a gorgeous family and fabulous style. I love your gold disco ball, I have tried googling but the one I find look very cheap and not very attractive. I was hoping you would be able to tell me where you got yours from. Look forward to your posts.
