Matching Mommy&Me Outfits…tragic or adorable?

If coordinating outfits with your baby is wrong…well then apparently I don’t want to be right.

Go over to A Piece Of Toast to check out the details behind these coordinating looks I put together for McBaby and myself, as well as my thoughts on style after motherhood.

I never thought of myself as someone who would dress like their child. I  mean I have, at times, dressed like a child. But I always considered matching your mini me a little Katie & Suri in a bad way. Or like me with my American Girl Doll, Samantha. Can you even imagine how insane I looked to the average bear as an 8 year old going through airport security dressed in full on Victorian period gear clutching my identical doll?

AHHH THIS IS DEFINITELY THE EXACT LOOK I HAD IN MY SIZE!!

Gah, I can’t wait until Gracie has a bizarre little mind of her own.

Where were we, I seem to have gotten off track a bit.

ANYWAY, as soon as I can fit my bod into so neon skinnies, this is happening. Anyway, Molly and Sally-super sisters- were so sweet to ask me to contribute to their adorable blog, so go familiarize yourself, please!

It can most certainly be tragic, but I think those outfits are adorable! The matching skinnies really do it for me.

Love the outfits. We are fully engrossed in American Girl Doll here! The store opens this summer in Houston.
Lovin the neon jeans – however I find Paige/AG/Citizens etc. to be more comfy – especially post baby. In other words, the more expensive the jeans the better.

LOVE your outfits for you and Gracie! I think this coordinated look is perfect :) Also, Samantha was my doll too, and I would’ve killed to have a dress matching one of hers! (I’m remembering brown plaid?)

Off-topic, but I have been plotting a way to get some Paule Marrot feathers into my baby-to-be’s nursery and was googling around, hoping to find some amazing deal on ebay. Instead, I found these:

And wanted to make sure that you were aware of their existence. Seemed like you should know.

    Love,
A big blog and bailey fan

Loved having you, girl! Matching outfits are SO right when you’re wearing neon skinnies and fab shoes… No shame in looking good! Also – I personally own that jellycat bunny. Our family has a BIG thing for jellycat and Sally and I have wayyy to many stuffed animals to be considered acceptable. oops?

Bailey, you crack me up. I thought of you and your love of bright pants and cute flats when I read this. They just need to come out with an infant/toddler line. http://www.statesman.com/life/style/valentina-shoes-add-traction-to-girls-creativity-2178156.html

i think the key is to dress in a complimentary way but not in a matchy matchy way – i do it – i figure the window of opportunity for that is so slim, you might as well go for it while you can! i have a couple of boards on this if you need ideas!

I think it’s cute to match in the way you have it laid out. Love the American Girl matchy refrence as I did the same thing!

Felicity was my American Girl doll of choice. And you better believe I rocked my colonial garb constantly. I may have even worn a bonnet in a school yearbook photo. I didn’t exactly have a firm grasp on reality. lol
Your and Gracie’s outfits look fab, so I say there is no harm in good taste (even if it does coordinate). :)

Dressing like your American Girl doll was waaaaay cool back then (Or so I thought). I totally dressed like Samantha too!

Oh my gosh… everyone in my office wants to know what I’m laughing out loud at. Thank you for the airport security / Victorian garb visual. Priceless.

Samantha was also my A.G. I too rocked the matching dresses and thought I was awesome!

I think its precious to match! You only get a certain time frame to do that kind of stuff before they rebel and don’t want to match mommy anymore. haha
    Love your blog!

Ugh, I want to slap your leg for even wondering — I love! It is wicked adorable!

And puh-lease, can I get me an adult version of Gracie’s sweater?!

Plus, cart around your own bunny like Jennifer Garner and her bunny iphone case: http://www.zimbio.com/photos/Jennifer Garner/Jennifer Garner Makes a Call/INjuUCKKPMB

    LOVE!

SAMANTHA! I might have decorated my room like an old lady, all Victorian style for many years of my youth. Also, I might have idolized Aunt Cornelia as much as Samantha. Finally, I might have also dressed like Samantha from time to time… none of this can be confirmed.
