The biggest project upstairs in this house was reconfiguring the bizarre master and 4th bedroom layout. I think multiple add ons resulted in a master bedroom that later became a walk through to a 4th bedroom. Check out my ghetto drawing to demonstrate.

That just didn’t make no kind of sense to us. Why would you want your chillens running through your bedroom to see their siblings, and why would you want one poor lonely child isolated from their brethren in the back of the house? I mean, maybe if they were super naughty, but still. So we decided to put up a wall and create a proper hallway to access the 4th bedroom in the back of the house, the new wall would create a much smaller bedroom which would be Gracie’s room, and we would make the 4th bedroom into the new master.
Make sense?
Hows about a visual.
Gracie’s Bedroom
After, That door in the before picture where you can see the texas flag is the same door in this picture, which now leads to our master bedroom.
Before, looking back towards to stairway. That doorway to the right led to their master closet which was a giant “L” shaped walk in. We turned part of that “L” into a bathroom for Gracie, and made the rest her closet.
Daybed that will eventually be her big girl bed, towers by Furbish
Towers are filled with my favorite childhood toys, and presents from our best friends and family.
Some precious items for my precious girl. My childhood Madeline books, a Madame Alexander Madeline doll, and Eiffel tower by Oeuf.
K, Leave ‘em questions. Tomorrow might be our last day with the master, unless I can scrounge up some outdoor pics.

So this room is too much to bear for me. OMG. Seriously. I am beyond in love with it all! I am girl that totally loves red so this room is the ultimate. Once again, you are a design genius!
Gorgeous and ingenious…and oh so neccesary to put in that hallway!
Love her little tub and tile…looks vintage…is it? What did you do wit the fixtures that were in the master bath…repurpose…sell…ditch?
Just a wunderin’.
Aching over the reno, btw. But my post is selfish: source for giant daffodils? I’ve got a fairy party that needs some large vegetation.
Can Gracie be any cuter? I think not.
So so cute! I love that you fixed the layout with that weird bedroom- how could someone put an addition on like that? So strange!
I LOVE Graces room, it’s precious!
The fabric used for the window treatments and over the bed is SO yummy! I also love how you used “real” art and furniture in the bathroom, it really takes the room to the next level! Gracie will have so much fun experimenting with makeup and her mom’s jewels in there in a few years
I rember you mentioning a while back that Gracie’s crib was vintage that you had painted. What technique did you use to have it painted an what type of paint did they use that made it “baby friendly”? My hubby and I don’t have any kIds yet, but I would love to bank the idea for the future! Thanks!
I could be wrong (and I’m kind of too lazy to get deep into Google-ing right now), but I think the fabric you love in Gracie’s room (window treatments and over the daybed) is the same fabric used on Trudy and Pete Campbell’s couch on Mad Men this season (when they’re living in “the country”). Neat!
I adore your whole home! Especially you little girls room. Where is her bedding from??? It’s so sweet and girly!
This has to be my favorite children’s bedroom I have ever seen!
I loovee the fabric you used on the comfy chairs in Gracie’s room!
Can you remind me who makes the fabric?
Thank you!
xo
Grace’s room is the best room ever! And she is the cutest babe ever! Love it all. And I second the crib paint question
…and grace is the cutest. You know I heart this soooo much. The whole thing. You did a great job!! Gracie wins!
ADORE THIS ROOM AND BATH!!! JANELL
Where did you find the wonderful sweet art?!?!
A-mazing!!! You are so talented, love your work!! I had the canopy/window treatment fabric as wallpaper in my room growing up – such great memories, would you mind sharing the source?
Grace is adorable! Please tell me where you got those amazing huge daffodils for her room. I want some!
Ahhh someone already said it, but I’m such a creeper fan of this blog that when I saw Pete and Trudy’s couch on Mad Men this season I was like “That’s the fabric Bailey likes!!” Too funny. I love the crib skirt!
Gracie’s room and bathroom are gorgeous. I love how you made the hallway for your master and reconfigured.
where is the chandelier in the bathroom from? it’s a great size!
New to your blog. Dying. So cute. Audrey in the bathroom? I’ve got a 6-yr old loving coco and Audrey at the moment!
The place looks great. I really commend you for your hard work – as it is a lot of work redecorating. I just moved to my new place in Nashville, and I’m overwhelmed when it comes to choosing wall color and hardware. But, I’ve been looking around for poufs. Where did you find your daughter’s red pouf?
I have been looking for a fabric like the canopy and window treatments for girl’s big girl room. Can you share what it is? Thanks! Love your house!
The house is so perfect!! Would you mind sharing who did all of your curtains in Austin??
Hi Bailey,
Your decor is insane – insanely fun and insanely cool that is! I love, love, love it!!!! Such a happy house, I think Jonathan Adler will be calling you to ask if you are his long lost twin. Your color combos are just deliriously delicious. Ok, I have to ask you, well beg you, can I do a feature on your bathrooms on my blog please? My blog is just on bathrooms and I just love yours, they are super original and daring. Please, pretty please!

Wow what excellent style you have!!! What a amazing transformation!! Love how the nursery is cute and friendly without being to babyish looking (if that makes sense:).
The canvas of Audrey is amazing….do you mind telling me where you found her??
Hi Bailey — I’ve come to your website via Google after seeing Pete and Trudy Campbell’s house on MadMen (as I think an earlier commenter mentioned). What a lovely room for your little girl! My late mother used that flowered fabric in my room when I was little — 40-plus years ago! — and seeing it on MadMen brought back so many wonderful memories. Would you please e-mail me the name of the manufacturer/pattern? I’d love to purchase some the next time I’m back in the USA, just to have as a souvenir. Many thanks.
Master bath fixtures we took out were donated…
Gracie’s tile is waterworks.
Daffodils are from Kuhl-Linscomb in Houston
Gracie’s bedding is from Victoria’s Fine Linens
The fabric on the windows and canopy is Paule Marrot which used to be sold by Brunschwig but they discontinued it so I had it made.
Bathroom chandelier was Chandeliera I think…
Fabric on her gliders is Osborne&Little
Sweet art is from John Derian and Etsy
Audrey painting is Sarah Ashley Longshore!
Where can you you have fabric such as the Paule Marrot made?
This is AMAZING!!! I love everything about it. It is SO happy and it doesn’t hurt that your daughter is darling!
Love it all! Can you please tell me where the gliders are from? Been searching high and low for one like those and have a newborn son – thanks!
Hi Judith- They were from Lee Industries. xoox
I am in awe with your little girl’s room… super sweet and girly but fresh and awesome all at the same time. LOVE IT. I am getting ready to paint my baby girl’s room and I’d love to know the paint color on Grace’s bedroom walls. My painter is knocking at the door asking for my final color selections, lol. Looking forward to getting the info
Thank you!!!!
LOVE Grace’s room! It’s so perfect – pretty and girly but fresh and awesome. I’m getting ready to paint my baby girl’s room (our painter is actually knocking at my door begging for my final color selections, lol) but I’m afraid to pull the trigger on a color. Would you be able to share with me the color on Grace’s bedroom walls? Thank you so much!!!!
