We made it back. Italy was so amazing, a major learning experience, exhausting but totally worth it.
We saw so many beautiful things my eyes had a hard time processing it.
Like amazing stripey Churches.
Stunning monasteries turned restaurants only accessible by boat…
Magical full moons over the harbor…
…And the truly spectacular Sophia Vergara.
Gracie and Pete would check out the morning headlines on their phones every morning, and sometimes they were SHOCKED by the news. But besides that and my little updates here, we turned off internets, TV and spent some hardcore family time.
Gracie loved the pool…
…if not her piglet rashguard/bather
and gives major high fives to gelato.
Perhaps most importantly, Pete and I got to spend some romantic time reconnecting and remembering that our names are Bailey and Pete and not Mom and Dad. I especially needed to be reminded of this.
Besides the absolutely perfect level of tan I achieved, my body is a mess.I really went all out with the pasta, pizza, and wine. It is going to be hard to make that mouth party stop, but I am ready to get back in gear. I have a TON of work and aforementioned exciting announcements in the next few months.
Thanks for not raining on our parade in the comments, I will be rewarding y’all next week with some posts on our yard renovation (sorry I never got to that), traveling with baby, and lots of good designy things.

I think it is craziness that you even have to thank people for not being all mean in the comments just because you have a great life. Ah.. humans! I feel jealousy sometimes – we all do – but then it must be examined and used, possibly, as an opportunity to decide to add something to our lives. To just be jealous and mean just sends the message to yourself that you can’t have it and you are not enough.
Anyway…. I like your crazy and abundant life! It inspires me. There is more than enough abundance in the world to go around!! Thanks for sharing your life with us.
