Firstlies: Thanks to all who have sent your resumes, if you would still like to apply for the internship the cutoff is next week, and I will be in touch with all applicants soon!
A few years ago Pete’s cousin was floating the Guadalupe river with a bunch of his friends (here is a visual of what that experience is like in case you are unfortunate enough not to have had it)
At a bachelor party and one of the guys was talking about politics, and in the middle of the discussion an older gentleman floated by in his tube and hollered out:
NO POLITICKIN’ ON THE RIVER…
Which was immediately followed by his wife floating past saying, “Right or wrong, he’s our President”.
Now all of this is a really amazingly rich visceral reference if it is read in a slow deeply southern accent, and if you keep in mind the visuals above. And the probability of an American Flag bandana being involved. But I can’t hold your hand in the proper way to read this blog, but do try to put it together and have a giggle.
Anyway, that has always been and will probably continue to be my policy.
No Politickin’ on the blog.
And not because I am scared to stand up for my beliefs here, but because I don’t know enough about politics or follow them closely enough to think my opinion would be somehow meaningful and informative to anyone else. I’d be all like I AM PRO BOLOGNA!!! And then someone would be like, but bologna killed my Aunt, and I’d be like, shit, I’m sorry. I didn’t know that. Well, I still like bologna but I should probably go read more about it.
Point being, this is not about politics. I am sure some of you will choose to take it that way and get offended, and I preemptively apologize for you being offended. And I am sure some of you will take it that way and be ‘like good for her’, and for that I say to you ALL…
Just enjoy the music.
Pete and I got to go to Lollapalooza when we were in Chicago, which pre-baby was one of our most favorite things. His parents agreed to take Gracie for the weekend, so for 3 rambunctious days we were just a bunch of lightly intoxicated dirty yuppies pretending to be hippies doin’ it all for the music. Here is a visual on that:
Anyway, one of my favorite discoveries was Macklemore…and not just a little bit because he kind of looks like Pete, but also a lot a bit because he is really good. Other songs besides the one I am about to share that I quite enjoy would be Can’t Hold Us, Otherside, And We Danced.
But this one? This one raps to my heartbox.
I hope you enjoy, feel the love, and have a fantastic weekend.
Damn Right I Support It.
And I will accept comments of all kinds today, except those that are hateful or rageful. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

I am also a long time reader and first time commenter….Thanks for sharing this and supporting equal rights for all. No reason in this day we are still so behind…Love it!
