Team Biscuit: Introducing Maddie & Jordan

A few months ago I posted a job listing with theEverygirl for interns to help me keep things running with design clients while we managed production for our bedding and got everything ready for the store. I had hoped I might find someone who could eventually come on with us as a full-time paid employee once we opened, but I have never hired anyone before and I felt incredibly awkward about the whole situation.

Somehow though, we found not one, but two great girls who have completely saved our asses getting this thing going. So I would like to introduce you to the latest additions to Team Biscuit, Maddie and Jordan.

Who is you?

My name is Maddie. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelors of interior design. I just recently moved to Houston. I began looking for jobs and I came across a post on the every girl blog that Bailey was looking for an intern. After reading through Bailey’s blog, I realized this would be such an awesome opportunity! I fell in love with her quirky design style and I have learned so much already. You never know what the day is going to hold, sometimes it is client work, arts & crafts, organizing displays…And sometimes you are caught in an uncomfortable situation sampling grapefruit from door to door salesmen. But that is a story for another day.

Which bedding pattern do you want for your bed?

The Fiona Lilac is my favorite, it’s fun and girly but the colors are unexpected.

What one thing in the store would you most like to buy?

Gosh that’s hard, whatever you are calling this? That green console with the stools.

Good choice! That’s one of my faves too…

Jordan, Who is you?

After moving from Seattle to Arizona to NYC to London to Chicago and finally here to Houston in a very short seven years, my husband and I are settling in and loving the Texas lifestyle.  After graduating college I worked for Pepsi in Sales & Marketing and recently left to pursue a career and industry I had always dreamed of….this is where Bailey enters at the perfect time.  I was looking for some sort of design job/internship online when I came across Bailey’s posting on theeverygirl.com, stalked her blog and fell in love.  Every day at Biscuit is something new, different and exciting.  The vision and skill of the three Biscuit founders amazes me and I love being a part of this company as it grows and develops every single day.

Which bedding pattern do you want for your bed?

While I love them all, I must say the Katie is my absolute favorite.  It is classic and fun but mixes with so many different patterns and colors.

What one thing in the store would you most like to buy?

Seriously, everything.  If I had to choose just one item it would be a set of lime green and white painted chairs that Bailey designed.  They are simply stunning and so fun.  But then the lighting, bedding, artwork, furniture, accessories…o my, it really is too hard to choose just one item.  If I thought about this again in ten minutes I would probably have a different answer.   When you all hopefully come visit us in the store, you will see what I mean, each and every item is as unique and amazing as the next.

Come on in to meet the girls and see more!
We will be closing at 3:00 today so I can take GracieGirl trick-or-treating, but will be back at it 10-6 Thursday.

And for all of you out there like WTF where is the website?

Where is the online store?

I am right there with you. We are working on it.

I can promise though that as soon as it launches, those of you who signed up for our mailing list will be the first to know. And then the rest of you will know because I will be radiating sparkles through your computer screen because FINALLY the last piece will be in place. Until then, patience is a virtue, said someone I don’t get along with.

Both girls seem lovely; how wonderful that you were able to bring them on board. But wowzers, that console/stool combo is seriously taking my breath away! So happy for the Biscuit team!

They were both so lovely on Saturday night! Good hires, Bailey!! And the grapefruit mention cracked me up. The same fruit pusher comes to Boxwood. Bret made the big mistake of actually buying some when we first moved. Big mistake. Happy Halloween Biscuit girls and Gracie girl!
