Three things today. Well 3 and 1/2.
1. First item of business.
Have you been wanting to purchase some Biscuit Bedding, but maybe are waiting on the next deal? Well here it is. Camila asked me to be a part of her Joss & Main sale going on today through the 21. At a rather generous discount you will find the Katie Multi Duvet, Shams, cornflower blue boudoir, Katie Black & White duvet, Shams, and coral boudoir.
Thanks for all the feedback Friday. High praise for Navy, Emerald/Kelly Green, Gray, mint and coral. You will not be disappointed.
I was not disappointed (see what I did there, with the transition??) by my “birthday” weekend.
Today is my real actual day of birth, and I am in a factory. Which isn’t…ideal. But that is ok because I feel very well celebrated after this weekend.
Pete and I went back to New Orleans for the first time in 5 years. It was cold and beautiful and we walked for ages. All up and down Magazine Street. It was such a welcome surprise to see how much the city has come back since the last time we were here. There were charming new shops and restaurants open, and everything was clean, there were shiny happy people everywhere. Magic.
Visiting the studio of Ashley Longshore.
I bought our Ashley Longshore Audrey 7 years ago when Pete was in school at Tulane. Pete and I were walking one day and happened upon a store that was featuring her work. It was my first big original art purchase, and I love it so much to this day. We have kept in touch over the years, but this was the first time I have been able to visit and see Ashley’s new work.
Our Audrey was one of her first, and also one of her first experiments in the lacquery finish.
Now she is on some next level junk. There is so much sparkle and depth.
Every single piece is delicious candy. You cannot not spend time around her work and feel a little bit freer and more joyful.
Thank you, Ashley, for letting us come play!
And thank you Roxy for including me in Project Sofa.
The feature got picked up by Style Me Pretty at Home, so now we all have a chance to be winners. Leave a comment on the post saying which designers sofa you like the best (it doesn’t have to be mine, though it would be charming) and you have a chance to win $150 to Society Social. The designer with the most votes wins a Society Social bar cart, and that would be nice. I have been working my tail feather off lately, and I wouldn’t mind a prize.
Tomorrow I am going to try to bring you the dining room before and some other good junk this week.
