Grace’s Big Girl Room Plan

Sorry for the mid-week no-posts. We were so enjoying our time in Charleston, it completely slipped my mind. If any of you are planning a visit there soon, I would highly recommend consulting my friend Chassity’s city guide. Of her restaurant recommendations we tried Husk for dinner, Cru for lunch, The Ordinary for drinks/oysters, and Macintosh for dinner- and every place was spot on. Cru might have been my favorite- we had fried green tomatoes (obv) and some pecan fried brie with local honey and a fig situation. I have never. So good.

But now we are back, and we are celebrating Grace’s birthday with friends and family this weekend. It will be a backyard pool party…which means…our backyard & pool are almost finished! PRAISE! I’ll show you pictures next week.

I am also moving forward with plans for her big girl room after I found this rug on sale. It’s pretty perfect so I took the sale as a sign to go for it. Her old rug was roughed up in our move, and I am loving something a little more mature that can grow with her over the years.1337897_de copy

So now we will do the wallpaper, move her daybed in there after it gets a fresh coat of pink paint…

We are also moving out her red towers (which are now toddler climbing hazards) and her chair to make more room for playtime. ¬†We are going to add some perky trim to plain white curtain panels, and I haven’t decided if we are going to keep a canopy or not. It is a tiny room, so I think it might open it up to get rid of it. But then again, maybe it makes it more cozy and special, we will just have to see once things start coming together.

Happy Weekend, Everyone! xo

I’ve been struggling for awhile with clothes for the windows in our house. Our living room has a ton of prints and the color scheme is pretty much maxed out. I think I’m going to do the whole white panels and add some fun trim! That’s a great idea!

I can’t wait to see Grace’s room when it’s finished! It looks like it’s off to a great start. And the idea of sipping cocktails in Charleston is BEYOND. Sometimes I drink minty bourbon cocktails at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood to make myself believe I’m on a porch somewhere in the south.
