Y’all…My Grammy passed away.
Grace’s first visit to Grammy’s apartment- check the wall of African masks collected from the many Safari’s she took in the 70s-80s.
We got a few weeks to spend with her and say goodbye, but this has still been one of the hardest times of my life.
The word is overused, but she was a TRULY magical woman. That picture is from the 80th Birthday we threw her a few years ago. I wore her dress from the ’60s, just one of the many material and spiritual gifts she passed on to me.
So fly, right? She had such style. I owe so much of my sparkle, my love of color and whimsy, and my sense of adventure to her.
One of these days I’ll tell y’all more about her. I am honored that my family asked me to give her eulogy at the service today. And then immediately afterwards, Pete and I are going straight to the airport to fly to Aix so I can be a bridesmaid in Christina’s wedding.
There is a whole lot of life going on around here. Weddings and funerals, big life moments on the opposite ends of the spectrum I am grateful to be a part of.
xoxo or as Grammy would say, 1-4-3
