I have really been appreciating and craving texture in design lately. My clients aren’t always up for the full on colorsplosian that I favor in my own home, and I have found that you can bring a lot of the interest I love with color by layering texture. One such touch that is poppin’ off for me of late are lacquered ceilings:

We are starting on a rather grown up apartment project, and I love the idea of lacquering the ceiling, and using a textured grasscloth on the walls. Lacquering a ceiling captures the light in the room beautifully, and is a great way to bring a saucy moment to a space when people might be hesitant to surround themselves with it on the walls.
How do y’all feel about it?
