Punky Pastels

As I posted yesterday, we are bringing in some pastels to the new Biscuit studio. I generally haven’t used pastels in the past, but our Biscuit signet-chah col-ah is mint and lately pastels have been really speaking to me. I think especially in a studio space- which will be mostly a pure white blank surface, my thought is that pastels will bring in some color without being overwhelming.

I also really enjoy how a pastel can go from sweet to punky with just the right pop of yellow/chartreuse. Pastels are sunwashed and dilapidated,  and also fresh and spring. A little 1950s, and then also somehow a little 1980s. They are really so much more than Easter. Lemme demonstrate.

Love it. Love it all. AND it is making me into more of a purple person. Opening my arms to all the colors of the rainbow in this new year!

LOVE. IT. ALL. I’m feeling the same color palette for my home studio revamp…(mixed in with a ton of metallics to punk it up a little). Can’t wait to see the new space!

I saw you during Design Week in Chicago, when you spoke about social media. I love the image of the paint samples and paint brush, as well as the polka dots. I also have a soft spot for pastels. My wedding colors in October 2012 were ivory, mint and a touch of maize. Love it
